Microsoft Outlook 97

NOTE: Outlook97 is a Microsoft Product. SunNet is unable to support Outlook97 beyond what is stated in this document. SunNet will only be able to refer you to Microsoft for further information or troubleshooting for this product.
To open Outlook97 click Start, go to  Programs and select Outlook97
This will open the main screen of Outlook97

From the menu bar, click on Tools
and select Services... Now you should see the following window. 

If you do not see Internet Mail, click on add... then select Internet Mail
Select Internet Mail and click on Properties

This will bring up the following window

In the User Information box you will need to enter your full name and your e-mail address. Your e-mail address is your username@sunnet.net

click on the servers tab 
In the Servers Information box you will need to enter 
your OutgoingMail (SMTP): mail.sunnet.net  
your Incoming Mail (POP3): mail.sunnet.net
your Account name:  your username
and your Password: your password

Click on the Connection tab
Make sure that in the Connecting Properties box 
you have selected connect using a modem and have 
chosen your dial-up networking connection for SunNet. 
Click on Apply

click on OK, this will bring you back to the main screen of Outlook97
From the main menu bar, click on Tools 
and select Options...
You will see the following window

In the Check for new mail on box make sure that Internet Mail has a check mark by it. Under the When new items arrive box Play a sound and Briefly change the mouse cursor should be checked. The Settings for automatic processing of mail box should have check marks by both Process delivery, read, and recall receipts on arrival and Process requests and responses on arrival.
Click on Apply then 
Click on OK
